All-GPAC

Sorry for being so late. As most of you probably know, the All-GPAC team came out with 5 Tigers receiving recognition. Darrin Dorsey's spectacular regular season earned him GPAC player of the year and co-defensive player of the year. He was joined on the first team by teammates Brady Wiebe and Preston Broughton. Mitch Bain recieved second team honors and Chase Walder recieved honorable mention. Coach Hemenway did not recieve Coach of the year. I guess the Tigers were picked first pre-season and that's what they did. Hastings was rated #5 preseason and had a chance at the regular season title going into the last week of the regular season so Lance Creech recieved Coach of the year. However, it was only by a slim 7 to 5 voting margin over Coach Hemenway. To read more about the end of the year GPAC honors here are a few articles.

It is also getting closer to the day we've been waiting for. The Tigers leave tomorrow morning for Branson, Missouri. There are a couple events planned for the national tournament. One for those of you making the trip down to Branson (a pep rally at the team's hotel) and one for those of you who are unable to make it down there (free broadcast of the game in the Sherman Center on DWU's campus). GO TIGERS!

  1. For those who may be interested, I have a GPAC blog attempting to break down DWU's (and every other GPAC team who qualified) first round match-up at nationals. It also features a podcasted interview with Darrin Dorsey. Check it out at www.LAsportsriot.com
